Brief Description:  Non-plane building

I haven't done a whole lot of work on the aircraft in well over 3 weeks, however, I have been purchasing numerous items for the -8.

The main reason for the lack of work is the project in the back yard. At the end of the school year, I was tasked by the boss to have the deck built around the new 21 foot above ground pool we had installed the first week of June. So, away I went with the digging of post holes (thanks Lisa) where my sister helped me use the 2 person auger. After the post holes were done, I was on my own, which I don't mind doing.

The first level of the deck is 22' x 16' and the second level to the pool is 22' x 12' at the largest area. Today, I finished off some of the finishing touches and the deck is done.

With the heat wave we've been having the last few days, the pool is at 90 degrees....and I don't have a heater and haven't used the solar blanket in over 2 weeks!

I'm started my vacation last week on Wednesday and had hopes of cashing in on some time in the garage. However, on my first day of vacation, I received a call from my mother in-law that my father in law had been in a serious car crash. Long story really short, we've been driving back and forth to Kingston, Ontario ( 2 hour drive each way) to see my wifes father in the hospital. He suffered a broken neck, compressed vertebrae, a damaged aorta, and broken nose, fractured sinus cavity, and numerous broken ribs. He was in ICU for 2 days. Fortunately, the trauma surgeon advised that he had the body of a 45 year old (he's 65) and his seat belt saved his life.

For those of you out there that go for a fasted blood workup, please eat after you have the blood drawn, or better yet, have someone else drive you!. He passed out while driving due to low blood sugar levels! He's going to pull through, but many lessons learned! Crashing at 56 mph, flipping then rolling isn't good for the body, especially when the damn airbags don't deploy (another issue!)

It's amazing how quickly firefighters can turn your car into a co
